I didn't realise there were as many Phase 4s with large 4s on either! They look great 'knitted' together, I can see the appeal of doing it. :0)

I have, and really like Ronnie Aldrich - Love Story on Phase 4 and it's definitely a large 4 as you can see from this Lounge Legends blog.

I hope you don't mind me pointing this out!

Not at all Runswick and thank you for doing so. (Darryl by any chance???)
I read your post this morning and have been wading through the Phase 4 catalogue numbers since then from what I thought was the last one onwards. I haven't found anymore but it was nagging me because I was sure one of the Botticelli ones was a large 4 and I had missed it.

I'm kind of hoping at least two more turn up so I don't have to re-jig the page much! Any other errors, found 4s, or anything else at all to make the main site more accurate or just informative will be much appreciated. Thanks for posting. :)

This probably should have its own thread (and feel free to move it if you like) but it is Ronnie Aldrich related. When viewing all those lovely phase 4 sleeves the other day, i noticed that the sleeve of "It's Happening Now" is different to mine...

Here's my copy:

and the 60s styled back cover:

I note that the copy on the site is on London records and mine is a Decca one. Could they have had different sleeves?

DOH! (That's for me, not for you Mr Munch....)

I was just about to direct you back to the Phase 4 (http://www.forumusic.co.uk/decca_phase_4s_large_4s.html) page to read the text again but on doing so myself realise that i completely forgot to mention that some Phase 4 lps had different covers depending on if they were released by London (US label) or Decca (UK parent label).

It wasn't a very laborious job but the search for all the large 4s meant double-checking the US / UK covers, and several had the large 4 for one release but not the other. Your example above is one of them but there are others like Aldrich's This Way In and one of the Los Machucambos releases.

That black and white design on the back is ace!

And my avatar if from the London sleeve of It's Happening Now, but you knew that already.. ...:)

I suppose it is the same for many people here but I seem to pass these records all the time in charity shops so will have to pay more attention from now on!

Best, Sean

It was no trouble Ian and I'm very pleased you didn't take offence. If I find or see any more that are missing I'll let you know.

I like the look of this site and look forward to reading more on here. Keep up the good work!
