Got to go and flick through some boxes of records now....That was great. Raised a few issues too. Some of the tunes were off the hook. Cheers for that one

I am not sure I understood it right. If you kill a chicken and spread its blood over a fetish, you get all raers coming to you the day after. Is that true? Has anybody tried it before? ;)

:D I had to kill a rabbit last year. It was a poor slow-moving 'mixy' one the dog saw before I did and he grabbed it and injured it. Smashed a rock on its head as fast as possible to put it out of misery then felt wibbly and horrible for days about it.*

Various Naaaarfak locals spent some time explaining how you pick them up and twist them to break their necks like it was as natural as burping.

There were no raers flowing after. Just tears in my heavy heart for a little blind bunny.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Went back to the spot the next day and it was gone. Easiest meal the local foxes ever had.

Maybe your dog was trying to end the misery too! Better than being pecked about by crows and magpies.

You did the right thing. Myxomatosis can be very painful for the little things. I think I would have felt like you, lots of regrets and funny feelings inside.

My father, on the other hand, is an expert at holding them by their ears and killing them with just one hand. He comes from a village and just sees food where I see a nice little bunny fluffy rabbit.

My progenitor hasn't found any ill raers either, though. Probably because he doesn't collect them.

Yeah. I know it was right, and I did it quickly. Still felt shite though.
I had no idea until I came here that mixomatosis was still an issue in the countryside.

I had it down as a 50s thing that was gone. My spritely elderly neighbour went on to cheerfully tell me how everytime she used to go out picnic-ing with her late husband, he would pack a baseball bat in the front basket of his bike to swiftly dispatch any mixy rabbits they saw.

Apparently he was like me, couldn't bear to do it with his bare hands but was very efficient with the bat.

I cannot find that video anywhere now but you could always read and see the pictures this guy took of Frank's travel. It's quite entertaining.

To be honest I have gone off Frank since I read his comments in soulstrut.
