As promised, now I've got my cables sorted, I can put a few unusual bits and bobs on Youtube, and share them (bore you with them) with whoever wants to have a look. I've had this 45 for a while. The other side is the one that has been comped (Grape Jelly Love), but its this tune that I prefer. Bit of a strange one, see what you think. Another 1st for Youtube.

Mad!
The arrangement and percussion sound like it's been done by someone well- versed in incidental music for childrens television circa 1970.
Like that a lot. :)
(A totally different kind of track, but the playfulness of that brings to mind the 45 Mark 'Beddoes / Gurney' contributed to one of the VG+ Best Ofs. I'll see if it's on YouTube and if it's not I'll post up a Divshare here).
Scurries off
ps Norwich Record Fair was cancelled yesterday and so is the boot today! Bah! Will have to play music and bloody listen to it instead.........

Yup! Here it is. NOTHING LIKE the track you've premiered () on YouTube but it reminded me of it. It is a B side though!
(The way my neurons work is still a mystery to be unravelled)

i've got a couple of 45s by Terry Knight. Bought them mainly for the crunching fuzz guitar. When this tune started, I thought this can't be the same guy. As you say, kids tv, sunshine psych and then bosh! right in the middle, a hefty dollop of the trademark guitar. Quite startling when it happens. I know I'm gonna be whistling this one at work tomorrow!
Terry Knapp (real name) was a Michigan DJ incidentally. Apparently he was one of the first to embrace the Pretty Things, Kinks etc. in that area. Sad case that I am, I can't help wondering what his record collection would have been like....gulp!!!

Yes it is Craig. I didn't realise it was so long ago but it was Beddoes' contribution to the Best Of Vinyl Vuture 2006!
I'll scan and put up the sleevenotes in a tick.
Gawd. My submission that year was Todd Rundgren - Tiny Demons. Bit 'known' really bit I still love it. Hey ho.

Promised myself I'd never wash my hand again after he shook it and wished me a Happy 40th birthday.
(I did tho')

Note: Beddoes sleevenotes and mine were transposed by mistake. I can't take credit for finding the Terry Knight!

Got a few versions of Fire, but the memories of Wild Billy sraying us with spittle while cranking this out full pelt at The Boston Arms on a Friday night, makes this my slightly dribble covered fave version
