View Full Version : CoolTube: Seeking the best YouTube dance / choreography clips....

I'm really keen to have an article on the main website pulling together the coolest YouTube clips.
The idea would be to have a screen grab shot, some writing about it and a link. YouTube's been around for about eight
years now(?); music forums have been around a lot longer... I think it would be good to have one place where all the
best clips are gathered.

Kind of imagining what it would be like for an 18 year old raised on Rn'B to suddenly find a whole bunch of very cool
dance videos that aren't all CGI.

Annoyed that the original Band Of Outsiders dance scene appears to have disappeared for good from YouTube.

Add on please. Latin / Psych / Hip Hop / B Movies... whatever. If someone could post up Sola Sola (?) (the mad Disco one) I'd appreciate
it. Crappy slow connection at the moment. Also remember
a Czech one with blowing leaves that was really atmospheric?
Russian Army Dancing?

Bloody YouTube censorship.

I was looking for the Phoenix - If I Ever Feel Better (unofficial) video; a really watchable mix of cut n'pasted Breakdancing and Parkor videos and it's been removed.

Had vague recollections of this from quite a while ago. Googling 'Dancing Sisters' located it in seconds.
At six million views it's probably a bit too well-known.

It's definitely a bit scary.:)

Voices of East Anglia for today has some uber  black and white jazz photos (http://www.voicesofeastanglia.com/).
Reminded me of this monotone tap heat.

Ian! I've just seen a really good thread over on Waxidermy called 'Lets Dance - Post Some Moves.' There are some really interesting and more obscure YouTube dancing clips on there. I'll post a few selected ones here later.

On a more serious good note I found a belly dance clip a few years ago that was stunning musically and visually. If I can find it again I'll post it here.

Great stuff Treeboy. I'd completely forgotten how excellent Soul Train dance clips are. So funny to think most of these people must be in their 60s now.

Claude Francois gives himself so much to do in this performance that a lot of his dancing seems a bit clunky and out of breath. Keep watching, however, because amongst all the thigh squats and galloping he manages to execute some sublime James Brown style moves.

Claude was such a high energy performer, it's slightly ironic that he died from being electrocuted.
