I don't know what the premise was or whether it was voted for by DJ History members but it's a fine looking List of Greatest Dance tunes and I only know two thirds of 'em! Refreshing too that it kicks off with Shirley Ellis 'The Clapping Song.'

Check it out here (http://djhistory.com/features/100-greatest-dance-records) and like the tedious bustard that I am I'm going to post YouTube's up of the ones I think are lesser known.

DJ History Discussion thread about it. (http://www.djhistory.com/forum/100-greatest-dance-tracks#new)

Discussion thread is funny. Of course a list like that could never be definitive I don't know why so many rise to it. At the end of the day there is a bunch of classics on there glaring omissions and some records I've never heard of andi bet its the same for practically everybody thAt reads it.

Brave of them to even attempt a list and there's a lot on there I've never heard. Surely the greatest dance music ever depends on where you are, who you're with and what kind of emotional state you're in?

Trying to waltz after a great night out with a girl I really fancied several years ago, Englebert Humpeldinks Last Waltz felt like the greatest dance song ever. On that particular night Chic, Michael Jackson, Fatboy Slim just wouldn't have been as magic. I can't see Englebert on that list any where.
