It's a curse I know, but I can't help it. Hearing a great tune, trying to find a copy, and finding other versions, newer and older etc. My latest vinyl obsession began on hearing Soul Serenade by Beau Dollar And The Coins. I'm sure this is well known to the learned folk on this forum, but it was new to me. I know there are other versions out there, but here's a few, starting with what I think is the original. Is it just me, or is this a common affliction?

I know its well known but this is my affliction with Soulful Strut. I cant pass on an lp that has a version on it and Ive never taken the time or trouble to work who the origfinal version is by.

Just bagged the Tony Newman 45 on Parrot, so that's my excuse for this quartet of one of my top tunes of the moment

Nice! Have you got the other Soul Thing by 'the well-known 70s artist formerly known as P*** R****n.'? I'm sure I heard a version by him that was really good. Might be imagining it though....
Edit: Really lame to admit this, but I always pick up lps with the old standard 'Girl Talk' on... :oI don't know why I love it so much. The Kings Singers version always melts me.

That's ringing all sorts of bells. I'm sure I heard it on Brian Matthews Sounds Of The 60s. A vocal version as I recall. Had completely forgotten about that one. Can't find any clips online.

I don't *think* it's a tough one to find on 45? It's definitely on this boot from 99 which will be in Part 6 of 90s Boot Boom (probably around next March at the speed I'm going!)

Little run through MLL's classic, inspired by the release of the crazy version called Your Mind by Mickey in a different state of mind.

That Paul Raven is on single and should cost you about £10/15, it doesn't seem to be on Youtube though...
There's also this version, on single too -
