The electromagnetic spectrum song....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjOGNVH3D4Y

A slow grower. Marvel at the crooning intensity of 'vi-si-ble light' in the chorus. Showing this to classes leads to half of them sitting with their foreheads pinned to their desks and embarassed groaning noises.

Several plays later they are smiling, singing along and in the very least memorising the seven parts of the electromagnetic spectrum.

It's no Chocolate Rain but it's definitely in the same ball park.

More laterzzzzzz

'Several plays later'? What choice did they have? Beats working!

'Let's pretend we like it and we're learning something. Get him to play it a few more times and we've made it to break time without cracking a book!'

Punk'd.

:D spot on Mr S. Other work avoidance tactics much favoured by brighter kids:

Ask Sir about himself (anything to get his ego stoked)
Ask Sir a scientific question that's kind of linked to the topic but is much broader with lots of room for opinion / discourse.
Tell Sir the previous Science teacher was much better because they wrote less but understood more.

Etc etc etc

Our science teacher used to sputter saliva when he spoke. The challenge was to sit at the back of the class, get him to say 'hydrochloric acid' and watch the front row get soaked.
