I wouldn't describe myself as a dog lover, but I am in love with my dog. Monty is a six month old miniature dachshund, and I think he's fantastic, perhaps the best dog in the history of the world and I include Lassie and Digby, the biggest dog in the fucking world in that. Here he is.

Come on, show us your barkers!

:D

Goddamn it! Can't see the picture in work but you need to know I'll be coming on here laterzz with pics of teh magnificent Georgie.

I've been a cat lover all my life and never suspected for a second I would fall for a dog but it happened. 'Er indoors wanted one and got one without saying nowt! Cute as a button though ('er and the dog) and fallen hook, line and sinker for the damned thing.

For the record, it's a Doxiepoo. (Half Daschund / half Poodle). There's a bunch of them here (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=doxiepoo&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=pQnoT9f_NMKe0QXdnqiRCQ&sqi=2&ved=0CFwQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=620) on Google images and they're all totally different. Needless to say mine is better than all those. :p

Sounds terrible I know...but the reality is fine, fun and makes me laugh every single day. He also gets me out of teh house a lot which is bad for Forumusic articles :( but great for my health. Hey ho. Life's a balance of fun things.

Gettin' OLD.

With a DOG.

Marvellous as Sarge would say.

Pics later.:)

Now I see it....cute. How long is he, bein' miniature an' all? Looks like he's about a foot long!

Georgie (she named him, not me) is a little larger but is the offspring of a miniature daschund and a poodle, hence Doxie Poo.

Best described I think as a dishcloth covered in soot. He's kind of silvery grey and black. Here he is in the car seat his adoring mum bought for him so that he can see out of the car window.

I know exactly what you're saying about loving your dog. Never thought it would happen to me but it has. I just walked him all round the field next to our house this evening and the world felt great.

Sad or what?

Outstanding, Lee. Love that stern but quizzical look.

Great photos! I too have succumbed belatedly to the charms of a dog. Maybe it's age-related? :)
I'll post some pictures when I get home from work.

I live in the city and we don't have space for a dog, plus the missus is allergic.
So we go and walk the ones at the dog shelter every week or so.
Mostly podencos, Egyptian-looking local hunting hounds which are 'my type' when it comes to dogs - good natured, inquisitive, gangly, clean, non-slobbery, decidely anti-authority and they run like the clappers.

All credit to you Shaun that's a lovely thing to do. I'm way too damn selfish when it comes to weekend or holiday time.

Might be getting a dog soon.

If we do, it's definitely going to be a Bedlington Terrier so I can have it buzzed up to look like a lamb.

Because I'm not allowed to have a lamb.

I once saw a dog that looked and moved just like a pig. I even asked the owner how he had trained his pig to fetch sticks, as I was so convinced it was a pig.
I was a bit stoned at the time, admittedly.

Maybe it was one of those pigdoghyenas Mexicans often refer to.

So if you get a Bedlington thing you can buzz it up to be like Col's lamb or Carlos' camel / Bison depending on your mood / location?

Way cool. :D

PS: Just spent 15 minutes pulling large snowballs from the legs of my small dog after witnessing his first mad flurries through proper snow. For the record, he was ace at dodging snowballs but crap at throwing them.

I won.
